Happy New Year! 新年快乐! This year is the Year of the Snake. How special? Here’s a fun fact: The snake brings wisdom, transformation, and calmness. Chinese New Year is a time for family reunions, feasting, and honouring traditions. You celebrate by cleaning the house to sweep away bad luck, decorating with red lanterns and couplets for good fortune, and sharing meals like dumplings and fish to symbolize prosperity.
On the 24th, the school gathered together to celebrate with traditional games, and the foyer transformed into a bouquet of red and gold. Different activities took place, including lantern making, blow art, Chinese calligraphy, and arrow throwing. The students showed off their creativity by creating beautiful traditional art. It was a joyful and educational experience for everyone involved. We hope everyone enjoyed and learned more about Chinese culture!
