Ms.Vanessa Leah

Head of Secondary

I believe that the ultimate goal for any school should be to facilitate the process whereby young people can confidently find their way into adulthood.  A sense of belonging and connectedness to their school will bring about an ability to self-motivate, self-regulate and self-direct.  A student with high socio-emotional skills and a healthy respect for learning will become a resilient and highly motivated adult who appreciates that the responsibility for learning lies with the individual and that ‘failure’ or disappointment can be a valuable and positive diagnostic tool. It is my core belief that leaders, whether they be senior management or mentors for student, engage those around them, equip them with the necessary tools to move forward and empower their sense of self as they strive for individual success. In my three years at ZIS, I have become a strong advocate of the IB and feel that this school community is one of the best I have ever worked in.  I am looking forward to our next adventure!
