MAP Growth tests are unique in that they adapt to your child’s level of learning. If your child answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. This results in a detailed picture of what your child knows and is ready to learn.

Since MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about your child’s learning, they provide useful data for teachers to identify students with similar scores that are ready for instruction in similar skills and topics, and then plan instruction accordingly.

How do we use the results of MAP Growth testing?

Students…  Results help students with goal setting, setting targets for themselves in preparation for the next testing session. These tests are another way for students to think about their learning and help to motivate achievement.
Teachers…  Access a skill-by-skill overview of where the student is strongest and where they are in need of support. Allows for further extension where students are excelling and reteaching where support is necessary.
Admin…  Testing twice yearly over a sequence of years provides leadership data points to inform resourcing and curriculum decisions strategically.
Parents…  Support their child’s learning by receiving quantitative data on core literacy and numeracy skills.  Praise and encourage your lifelong learner – these skills take time to build!
